Patterson Park, Baltimore's most intensively used large park, is an outstanding example of 19th century park design. The site is surrounded by extensive row house neighborhoods that rely solely on this park for open space. The ceremonial cannons on the Park's Hampstead Hill, the highest point in the park, commemorate the site where a cannon battery helped the United States troops defeat the British in the Battle of Baltimore in 1814, a turning point in the War of 1812.
I shot the stills and video used here over a 6 year period during morning walks while visiting our daughter and her family who live a block and a half from, "The Best Backyard in Baltimore".
