This image of the Maine Coast and Camden is composed of 12 individual shots taken at 70mm from the top of Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park. I took them about 45 minutes before sunrise. There is a road up Battie, which was a blessing, because there was a new moon, and it was pitch black as I climbed. When I got to the top, the lights of Camden on the right dominated the scene, but as the dawn arose, the light from the village became more and more insignificant, until finally it seemed irrelevant.
