This image of Highway 12 in Southern Utah is composed of 12 individual shots taken at 200mm. I took them mid-morning after shooting a number of sunrise images in Kodachrome State Park, which is a few miles away. As an Easterner, the light, the openness, and the striking topography of the Southwest are a constant amazement. I find it difficult to drive because I am so captivated by what I am driving through. On two lane roads, I often have to pull over to the side to let the cars that have built up behind me pass by. This vista on Highway 12 was particularly striking, as the road seemed to flow through the canyon directly into the sky.
